Soba-choku

Soba-choku or sobachoko is a small cup which can be used to serve dipping soup to eat
with soba noodle. Soba is a type of noodle made of buckwheat flour.

Shapes
It is hand painted in under glazed blue decorated with rinpo pattern aound the
rim. The center motif of the cup is known as gobenka. The bottom of the cup
has a center glazed circle area surrounded by unglazed ring pattern known as
"janome kodai" which can be translated to a foot rim shaped like means
snake's eye in Japanese .
BOWL
Choku
Choku can be also pronounced as "choko" in Japanese. It is a kind of mukozuke which is
a small deep bowl to be used to serve a side dish along with a bowl of rice in Japanese
                                                                                                                       
It is hand painted in under glaze blue, with higaki-mon, which can be translated to a
motif of a woven wooden fence using thin Japanese cypress slats, with a flat base
glazed within a foot rim.
