GENROKU-gama

Tominaga Genroku (1859-1920) was an important figure among Japanese porcelain
makers of his own time. He began the Genroku-gama ( kiln ) factory during the Meiji period
with a goal of producing a highest quality porcelain in a traditional style of Imari from the
18th century.
His roots and traditional techniques could be traced back to one of the oldest kilns in the
early Imari history which was called  "Ureshino-yaki" from the 17th century.
Genroku-gama lasted until 1934.
