Iroe is also called "akae" because the red color was used as the predominant color kamakizu .....factory flaw : damage repair done during process at kilns often seen on the old porcelains because they were expensive to buy kinrande 金襴手..........akae or iroe decorated with gilt decoration & other colors mostly for export port nishikide 錦手.........akae or iroe decorated with various colors and gold mostly for Japanese domestic market in the Edo period rinka 輪花.............a shape resembling a flower with scalloped rims and fluted sides shonzui 祥瑞..........blue & white porcelain ware made by Jingdezhen kiln in China in the late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) mainly for export to Japan. Its distinctive style consists of sections in geometric patterns as well as traditional sansui scenes somenishiki 染錦.......nishikide porcelain also decorated in under glazed blue patterns sometsuke 染付......a type of high fired porcelain ware decorated with hand painted designs in under glazed blue
